The truck has a turbo 350. When I pull down on the column shifter, nothing happens, at all. No noise, grind, pop or anything. Its stuck in park (I believe). It also doesn't matter what the transfer case is in. I just backed it up the drive way an hour ago. I just finished changing the pan and gasket on the tranny (other pan was in rough shape). It worked fine then, now, it doesn't. Could the shift shaft have broke? All the linkages and everything are still hooked up. Please help if you have something... Thanks, Jeff.

Have a helper move the shift lever inside while you watch the linkage under the truck.
BTW, vehicle info??

Never mind guys, I got it. The linkage was fine... it was low on fluid. I was looking at the dipstick wrong. If we had a "shoot yourself in the face smiley," I would insert it here.
Thanks guys!

low? you got a leak somewhere you need to address or you're compensating for a cooler or lines that you forgot about when you changed the fluid.

Honestly, I think I just didn't put enough fluid back in after the pan change. We'll see how it goes from here; all is well this morning.
