The Truck Avenger is ok. The Carter AFB/Edelbrock Performer AFB work well with the bowls set lower and off-road needle kit. The best 4bbl I've run is the standard 70s spread-bore Rochester Quadrajet. Best carb I've had off-road is the 2bbl Motorcraft 2150.
