Can anyone tell me what the lead goes to on the positive battery cable?

blrob5, The positive (+) side of the red wire coming from the battery should go to the large post on the starter. If you're a weekend machanic, I would recommend getting a Chilton or Haynes manual for your particular make and model of your vehicle. Hope this helps.

I understand that the battery cable itself goes to the post on the starter. I am looking at making my own cable. There is a second thin wire that goes to the postive terminal on the battery. I wanted to know where this wire goes and what it is for. the Manuals don't mention it.

blrob5, if the manuals don't mention anything about it, then I would try and following it back (if possible) to see where is goes. Can you take a picture of it and post it?

blrob5, glad you got your question answered. Maybe next time you have the opportunity, you can pass along your knowledge and help someone else out.

On the NBS trucks, there is a power distribution block on the firewall. It isn't a ground strip. But yeah, glad you got it all figured out.
