simple belt question

does anyone know if they make a serp belt that will go onto the crank, alternator, p/s, w/p, ONLY? and eliminate all the other pulley's on the right side of the motor.... it would eliminate the entire passenger side bracket

sorry boss, 89 K5 w/ 350 SBC, i've been looking at local parts stores but it seems it makes it difficult to make sure the pully's spin the right direction once i start removing so many pully's unless i get just brakets with pully's

for future reference you can pretty much get any size belt you want. when i illiminated the smog pump on my 85 they didnt make a belt so i just had to keep guessing. and after about 10 tries i got one that fit. they go in basically 1/2 inch intervals so you can usually find one that fits

Take a piece of 1/2" wide webbing and wrap the pulleys you will be keeping while holding the tensioner at about midway through it's range of motion. Mark the webbing where it overlaps and then measure the length. That'll get you in the ball park.

As far as direction of accessories goes, that shouldn't be a problem. Any accessory with a grooved pulley will turn in the same direction as the crank regardless.
