Teaaching a 1986 ECM
Well, the oil in the cylinders is definitely helping them hold pressure. They look very even. Looks like a healthy motor as far as the rings are concerned, but you really will not know until you get that oil issue fixed.
Hard to say. Haven't driven regularly yet. Though from Richmond to DC it got 18+ mpg, and the oil seems fine. That's really about all its been driven outside of getting inspected and the trips to the body shops for quotes.
Finally run a full tank and a half of gas through it since the purchase date and oil consumption seems to be negligible. Doesn't seem to have moved on the dipstick anyway. There was a very minor leak that appears to have gone away.
Maybe just a dried out pan gasket from sitting so long?
