dcn427, You have to remove the whole front hub. First you must remove the brake caliper and locking hub to get access to the nut that holds the hub onto the front spindle. Once you get the nut off, the hub can be slid off. The studs are bolts which go through the rotor and tighten down to the hub, the extension through the hub is what you use to bolt the wheel on.

If you need further direction, I will see what I can do. I could not find my camera to get any pictures and I am not so sure I want to go pulling my front end apart...

You have to take the whole hub assembly off to replace the studs usually. I say usuall because i was able to take the brake caliber off and use a set of needle nose pliers to fit the stud into the hole. once in the hole, just put a lugnut on it to set it in place. if you have any questions let me know.

Sounds to me like somebody used an impact to put the lug nuts on which in turn stretched the studs so they broke on you when you drove ( had a buddy do this with his camaro, fun trying to get parts when all the stores are closed at midnight)

Don't forget the fact if you do attempt to take the whole thing off do make sure you have the actual axle nut socket (special socket with 4 points protruding off that fit into designated locations on the actual axle nut). Luckily when I did mine my buddy already owned the socket so I merely borrowed it from him instead of buying the $30 socket (US). And those little snap rings and c clips inside the actual hub are a pain the butt to get out, but you get better with practice haha.
