Default V15

Who know what a V15 Chevy/ Blazer is? I have a K5 that is totaled and the insurance company is calling it a V15. I am not sure it is comparable. Is it a Suburban model? Thanks

V= 4wd - this comes from the 5th digit in the VIN.

I assume they are referring to the 15 as 1500 which is the 81+ 1/2 ton designation. However, the VIN breakdown has the fullsize blazer as a V18 and the suburban as a V16; where the '1' denotes a 1/2 ton and the '8' is the Blazer while the '6' is the suburban. V18 represents the 5th thru 7th VIN digits.

You can check out more VIN breakdown information in the LMCTruck catalog - page #8.
