Default Rear window Safety Switch

First take out the four screws holding the tailgate latch mechanism in... you will have to undo the Latch control rod from the latch mechanism and the latch control, which is pretty easy, just dont break the plastic piece on the latch control side.

This is the Tailgate latch with the "Blockout Switch" attached to it, basically its your switch that shorts when your tailgate is closed allowing your Window to go up, and not shorted when the tailgate is down so you cant roll your window up.

Mine Stopped rolling my window up, after a new motor.... Forums pointed me to this switch. I took the wires off the switch while it
was all together, and shorted the wires with a spare scrap wire i had. Window worked. So I knew it was the switch. Took a continuity tester to the switch and it wasnt shorting when the latch was in the closed position.

Side View....

Disassembled Switch, I took that top spring out, and stretched it out, that copper square piece I took out and used a wire brush on it to clean it, and cleaned the contacts on the harness attachment. Basically as the latch is in closed position it pushes a rod into this switch, moving the copper square "Pad" over enough to short the 2 pins. Mine was all gunked up and dirty, and the metal pad wasnt being pushed down far enough to make contact with the 2 points...

Put it all together, and check it with the continuity tester, and voila, it works again, reassembed everything and its all working again!

Pretty simple. Good job! I'd coat everything in there with dielectric grease to keep it functioning properly for a long time to come!
