Default 00' Blazer for $8000!?!?!

This is wild-found a sweet 2000 Blazer with only 86K-its nice,a solid #3 from 10 feet. All bushings and other suspension issues are tight! Good service records as well! Showed and drove out very well, very nice unit! Then she told me the price! I actually laughed in her face! She didn't take that too well...I told her the unit wholesales for less than $3000 and that I recently picked up a complete (but wrecked) 03 for $700 and was still driving my 97 jimmy I stole for $1500 1 and half years ago with no failures! What say you all? Don't you think those folks are dreaming? I mean for that $ one could buy a sweet 64-66 chevy truck and get as much life and comfort and utility out of it!
Beer is good! GOD is great! & People are crazy!

My Mom wants $6500 for her '03 crewcab S10 with 180K on it and a host of maintenance needs.

I'm the same way as you, though. If I find something for a deal, it ruins anything else because I can't justify spending that much on something that I just got for a fraction of the cost.

Maybe not 8k, but its probably in the ball park. Without seeing it or knowing options etc. 6500-7000 is probably fair. Private party has to be more than 3k

That does sound pretty steep for a 00' in the states.

In Canada vehicles are a lot more. I've been watching Desert Car Kings, a new show on Discovery, and it blows my mind how cheap the cars auction for. $5500 for a nicely restored 50's truck with a V8 in it.

Yeah, so the only advice I have is check the VIN in the engine and make sure it matches the VIN on the car. I picked up a 2000 that was low miles but the engine had been replaced. So I have no idea how many miles it actually has on it. I had the heads rebuilt, but the engine was either a lot older than the mileage or it was just neglected severely, because it was nasty. Plus that makes me wonder why the engine was replaced? Was the previous owner that terrible to it?

I think $8K for a 86k Blazer is to much. I bought a 2002 w/ 38K for 9,500 from a dealer last year.
