Default 105,247 miles What motor oil weight to use.

I have a 2001 blazer 4.3l 2wd. I purchased this veichle last year at 58,346 miles on the cluster and ever since i have owned a veichle i have maitenence every thing from motor oils to drivetrain oils. since i have owned it i have used mobile 1 full synthetic 5w30. My motor is not burning any oil i change motor oil every 5000 miles and i am corious if it is still okay to use 5w30 due to my milage. what r u guys using and what r ur guy's opinions.

You're not using oil, the engine doesn't make noise = keep using what you've got.

I would agree with rriddle3

unless you intend to change your driving loads, driving style or driving environment. stay with what you have.

My Truck in Colorado runs 5w30
My truck here in Kuwait runs 20w50
Guess why...

sounds good... i never really wanted to try those high millage oils since my car is running perfectly fine, doesn't burn oil or leak it. I was just curious so i made the thread before i made the worst mistake of my life. :P Quick question... what do you mean by "your not using oil" a lil slow there. The only thing i can think of is 5w30 is like water as in its not thick.

"your not using oil" = your not burning any oil.

Well I have 111k now on my 01 and I use Penzoil Highmileage 10w30.

Reasons being:

1) Im in Oklahoma and it's summertime aka HOT
2) I feel like high mileage oil was invented for a reason.. for highmileage cars.
