I have acquired a 1989 S10, two door, two wheel drive, 4.3 EFI. It only has 39K miles but it has been sitting in a shed for 20+ years and mice has gotten to some of the wires. Put a new battery in it and it turns over but wont start. Probably wiring issues. Any thoughts on what to do with it or what it is worth? I would like to keep it if not too much trouble to fix but at my age I don't need a nightmare. Please help.

 

Fuel, Spark, Timing & Compression. Get a remote starter switch and a spark tester. Verify spark, You can verify fuel by applying 12 volts to the test connector from the battery. The test connector is a single brown wire with a connector that is not connected to anything about midway on the fire wall. This will power up the fuel pump you can crack a fuel line at the TBI to see if you have pressure. If you can get a pressure tester you need about 9-11 psi. If you have spark and fuel than you can turn the key on and use the remote starter to crank the engine while keeping an eye on the fuel injectors. (Fresh fuel, fuel filter, oil change, ,making sure you have coolant. Go through each system and hopefully everything works.
