You forgot to put "Which would drag the other?"

Ryanmatt135 09-08-2010 05:30 PM

-.- ha

swartlkk 09-08-2010 05:58 PM

Don't we already have a thread on this??

CNYCountryKidd 09-08-2010 06:08 PM

I think that thread is which do you have.. this is preference.

Logan 09-08-2010 06:08 PM

^^^ thats what I was thinking...it was started like a year ago, or somethin...

2door>all... But Im bias... 4 doors are for family cars and rallying...lol

mr.vls 09-08-2010 06:20 PM

My 89 is 2 Dr my 2000 Jimmy Diamond Edition is 4 Dr. I like both for different reasons.

swartlkk 09-08-2010 06:22 PM

I prefer 4drs. More room for people, gear, tools, etc. Doesn't just have to be family. If you are going out with friends, etc, it is just easier to fit 4 adults into a 4dr than a 2dr plus no one likes riding b**** in the back of a 2dr!

jackdough 09-08-2010 06:33 PM

lol you did end up starting this. two door for me

pj5454302 09-08-2010 06:55 PM

I prefer the 2dr, but Im bias. See I had a 92 regular cab long box sonoma so even my 2dr seems HUGE on the inside.

ohsofly 09-08-2010 07:36 PM

I prefer the 4 door for rear accessibility, and I like the little longer wheelbase. I camp out in the back of mine, and getting out to pee is much easier to do on a 4 door in the middle of the night. I also carry 4 people sometimes for going golfing, or if me and bud take some chicks fishing and swimming for the day, its just better for me to have a 4 door. Plus you dont beat up the interior trying to get things in the back. And sound systems sound boomier in 4 doors cause the internal volume is larger.

swartlkk 09-08-2010 07:38 PM

Rear liftgates are nice too! Can't get one of those on a 2dr!

cbr995 09-08-2010 07:45 PM

I prefer the looks of the 2 door, but I like the extended wheelbase, and easier accessibility of the 4 door. Not to mention, the 4 door is a 5 passenger, while the 2 door is only 4.

And their is NOTHING wrong with the lifgate/tailgate combo. How many of you liftgate guys can use it as a seat? exactly. :p

nj4x4blaze 09-08-2010 07:55 PM

Um 4dr duh!

Just sit in the back... Besides, how many of you 2dr guys can sit there when it's raining? LOL:icon_couchhide:

Logan 09-08-2010 08:02 PM

If I had a 4dr... Id have a lot more damage while off roading...

nemesis 09-08-2010 08:12 PM

i like them both, but i bought a 4 dr for the extra room for my dog. I lay a blanket back there and he loves it.

If it's drizzling, the liftglass offers plenty o' protection. Besides, it won't matter what kind of gate you have in a downpour. Nobody wants to sit back there, then.:icon_teeth:

swartlkk 09-08-2010 09:28 PM

I have lost track of how many times I've had to put on my gear at a fire call in a down pour and it is amazing how much drier I can stay with that liftgate!

cbr995 09-08-2010 09:28 PM

I just can't win...
Never argue with a cyborg, lol.

MTopper 09-08-2010 09:31 PM

i like my 2 dr for daily driving but would love a 4 door full size.

my reasoning... parking!!!! parallel parking my 2 door is so simple that i laugh when i see small spots that others pull past.

cbr995 09-08-2010 09:34 PM

To be honest, I personally don't see the 2 doors as easier to park than the 4 doors. I never had an issue parking my mom's Bravada. The turning radius seems larger, but I guess learning in a Suburban makes the difference meager to me.

MTopper 09-08-2010 09:36 PM

i drive my 2 door and my mom's envoy xl almost daily.. (when i run around doing errands i drive hers to save me gas) and i can park mine in smaller spaces than most people in sedans try... you just have to know the angles. all parking around my neighborhood is parallel parking which makes life a b***h if you can't do it.

I hate parallel parking. Not that I can't do it...

swartlkk 09-08-2010 09:53 PM

As far as on the trail, the 4dr is less than 6" longer (176.8" vs 183.3" long), and has ~9" wider turning radius (17.6' vs 18.3'). The wider turning radius could be the difference between backing up and not, but 9" isn't much.

For comparison, the GMT360 have a 18.2" turning radius, but they are 193.4" long which makes them ~17"/11" longer than the 2dr/4dr s-series. They have a 113" wheel base which is 6" longer than the 4dr s-series (107") and 12.5" longer than a 2dr s-series (100.5").

MTopper 09-08-2010 10:07 PM

yeah.... the gmt360 lost me (unless you mean your Ranier or k5)

cbr995 09-08-2010 10:09 PM

That's the platform the TB, Rainier, Envoy... are on.

ok, i don't pay that close attention... oops. my bad

RangerG 09-08-2010 10:53 PM

ZR2 + Xtreme = win.

cbr995 09-08-2010 10:57 PM

Yep! From High riding offroader to Low slung sport cruiser. The 2 door has it covered.

rob44_90 09-08-2010 11:57 PM

I can't stand the 2drs 45 degree rear glass. So I have to give it to the 4drs!!

leeclark 09-09-2010 12:38 AM

having a child i'd have to say 4 door ftw

marcial90 09-09-2010 01:28 AM

ill go with a 4dr not just on my blazer but on any car. I don't like leaning over or getting off to let people in my ride not that there's anything wrong with that. But I have a family so a 4dr is just right for me.

kiwiblazer 09-09-2010 02:42 AM

4 door.
I cart my laptop & a lot of work stuff. I prefer the convieniance of opening the rear door & dropping the laptop behind the drivers seat & dumping the other stuff on the rear seat. Retrieving it is easier too.

That 6" would have cost me 2 side windows by now... And that slant window saved me from a branch a few weeks ago.

cbr995 09-09-2010 10:29 PM

I quite like the design of the 2 door rear glass. it makes the truck look less like a block(IMO). That's why I despise the looks of the 2 door Exploders.

R2P 09-11-2010 04:38 AM

4dr ftw. Like kiwi said, if you have something like a laptop it's so much easier to just open the rear door and lay everything down in the seat. It's also more convenient if you tend to drive people around a lot.

Logan 09-11-2010 09:31 AM

I like watchin chicks get in the back of the 2 doors...hehehe
