My K&N is the drop in as far as the TB mod I stayed away from it that wasn't me too many down side's to it on a stock engine just don't think it's any gain.

I struggle to get 17.9 mpg on a perfect day. I am sure it falls to 14-15 a lot of times. My Blazer starts quickly, runs strong and smooth. It is there when I need it. I didn't buy it for exceptional fuel economy--- like Blazen Red just said. And gas is still 1.95 to 2.05! When gas prices get back up to 4.05, I may feel differently.

So my daughter's 2001 Chevy S10 Blazer 4 x 4, just made a 908 mile run in last three days. Here's our results used 87 unleaded laced with 4 oz. Marvelous Mystery Oil per tank of gas, averaged 22.56 mpg loads of mountainous and 65 percent level highway, spent $106.50 total in gasoline. Burn out 1/3 quart of 10W40 regular Dino oil. 2 passengers and 750 pounds of gear in the back end. You tell me how in happened, I'm amazed as you are by the finds we gathered from this trip.

Little Red 4x4 Chevy Blazer - that could perform 134K
I'm wondering how in the world this occurs: Trip cover 2 days, 910 miles with plenty of mountainous area roughly 20 percent 95 or greater on highway, 2 passengers, 700 lbs of gear in back section, here goes 22.56 mpg accuracy from scan gauge II, 34.29 gallons of 87 unleaded, costing $110. Yields an amazing figure of 22.56 MPG. Yes, I made sure it was tuned up like a fine Swiss Watch. It's seems to good to be true But the money savings don't lie. Zero problems experienced to boot. Blessed for sure. Oh, CA emission system onboard, go figure.

I never got close to 20 mpg on my ZR2 and I bought it brand new in Oct '00. Now a days, I don't worry too much about mileage as it is more for offroad than on. On the plus side I did average 12 mpg pulling my small travel trailer here in the mountains up and over and down the passes!
