can a 5 speed swap be done on the 2000 jimmy slt 4dr 4x4? what vehicle would be the best donor? any major mods need to be done?

 

Yes, BUT...


You'll need the ECU from the donor vehicle, and you'll likely need it flashed to match your VIN and options. Your best bet for a donor would be a 2 door Blazer or Jimmy 5-speed 4x4. You could also try an S-10 or Sonoma, but the Blazer/Jimmy may be less trouble.

 

flashing the ecu would not be a problem. but the search continues for a 2dr 4x4 5 spd thats not over priced. i would think $200-$300 would be a fair price for rotted out junk?
