Default 2000 jimmy slt all the good stuff

i have my 2000 jimmy and it has a shifter on the floor Console. the problem is i i push the button in to move it down in gear and the button wont go all the way in.. i keep trying and then it work it seems like its getting worse help me

Sounds like you might have a small piece of debris floating around behind the button. I'd take it apart and see whats in there. If its not that it could be the linkage is going bad and getting harder to move. In that case its easiest to order a new linkage and swap them out. I'd start with whats free first though if it were me.

I had the brake on and the linkage is on the transmission right because if so I have replaced it before I will try to take it apart

Sorry by linkage I meant the entire shifter cable. Its pretty easy to swap and about $50-60.
