Exclamation 2000 S10 Wheels question

I have an opportunity to buy a set of 16 inch alloys for my 2000 S10 and in researching they call for a different wheel for a 2 wd and a 4 wd . My question is what is the difference. Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards
Jim

4WD's have a wider wheelbase and the hubs are mounted closer to the edge of the fender. 2WD hubs are mounted further in.

Since 4WD hubs are further out, most wheels stick further out as well unless you get wheels with a high enough offset/backspacing.

Hope that helps
