I have a 2002 Blazer ZR2 that has a "pitch/dive" to it when I crest a hill or go over a raised center bridge. Like the front end drops and goes to the left. I have done much of the front suspension and it still remains. is this normal? If not normal, has anyone experienced this and found a way to fix it?

 

How are your front shocks? Are the torsion bar adjustment screw bolts about the same assuming the truck is level?

My gut tells me this not a rear end issue but you never know.

 

I just finished the front shocks. That was my initial thought. They weren't very old, but tried anyway. Have done the idler arm as well as the steering damper. Tie rods and ball joints seem solid. no play in torsion that I have seen. Has me at a loss at this point. the very first time I had it I replaced the shocks and it went away. Now can not seem to get rid of it.

 

Perhaps the shocks were masking something else? Hmm. So odd. Are you control arm bushings ok?

How about the rear suspension?

Just stabs in the dark at my end.

 

Control arm bushings are another piece of the puzzle I am going to look at next. Not much left after that. lol Thank you for the reply.

 

Have you installed a lift or adjusted the torsion bar all the way up? these trucks do not like maxing out the adjustment on the t-bars. look at the adjustment bolt. if it is all the way in, that might be your issue.

 

(jinmajay) I have not done anything except replace what looks to need it. I prefer as close to factory as possible.

 

I had/have the same problem.

I found it is worst when my steering is out of alignment, camber is not centered. I've done drive way alignments, with SOME improvement.

I am suspecting it might also have something to do with the anti sway bar missing(mounting location on the passenger LCA broke, so it was removed). Sinnce it was removed, it has had a "float" I can not get rid of.

edit: I have a 99 4 door 4x4 lifted 2.5", but same sympton

 

Doing a 4-Wheel alignment in the coming week hopefully. It does need one. Noticed the inner driver front time is worn pretty bad.

 

generally only a two wheel front alignment is required unless yours has some fancy stuff . There is no adjustment in the rear.
