4x4s without limited slip are one drive wheel on front & one on the rear. The wheels with least resistance will spin.

Default 2002 chev blazer

So are all the blazers from this era the same setup? thanks for the answers
thought something was wrong, it's the first time getting stuck with it, had to be pulled out by a jeep 2door. This will make me more aware of the challenges..

NO.
Both my 97 & 98 had Limited Slip rear Ends. If you read your option sheet it tells you. There is a very good & complete post here on this site that explains how to read it. (RPO numbers) On my 97 & 98 the sheet was in the glove box.

You would be looking for the RPO code G80, and if you have if it may not work as it is a gear locker so it locks up with some force on it that sometime causes them to fail. My old 93 2x4 has a g80, still working at 230K, and my CC with 118k also working.

G80 is the "posi" option on these trucks. Looks for those numbers on your glovebox. Since you were doing the one-wheel-peel you do not have a G80

Or a Failed one?
I am not 100% but I believe the locker is designed to unlock at 20+mph so for it to work best you need to keep it slow for it to work.
