Default 4X4 actuator, vacuum eliminator

I have been thinking about ways to eliminate the vacuum actuator for front axle engagement. I know the manual cable system has been beat to death. I was thinking maybe we could do it with an electric actuator of some sort. if anyone has any ideas i would be interested.

My main concern with anything automotive is reliability. That said, anything electric would have to be able to handle all the crap thrown at it in a vehicle: water, salt water, heat, sand, dirt, etc..

You can see where I'm going with this. IMO, a manual cable system is the only simple, sure-fire way to get the job done reliably. Just my .02.

there the are some actuators that will work for what you want to do......

autolock makes them there heavy duty and will withstand a lot of punishment
