sorry brother, no-can-do.

the 2.8 is a 60* engine, while the 4.3 is a 90* engine.

but it really doesn't matter which 4WD 5 speed you're looking for-they're freakin' impossible to find! i know, since i was without my truck for 4 1/2 months after owning it just 5 weeks, 'cause my bellhousing was cracked to within a couple of inches from being 2 seperate pieces!

I know the bellhousings are different with the two engine families (90 dehree to 60 degree) that not my question. The BW T5 bolts to my 60 degree belll like any other manual trans, just didnt know if a BW T5 from a 4.3 uses the same tranny case. You now the 4 torx head bolts the hold it two the bell. I was just under there looking at it and hope my case is ok, I didnt see any obvious external damage to my bell or tranny but I know its gonna be a internal disaster once its pulled off. I have been too lazy to start the teardown. Hot weather and all. I would use a 4spd from a 4x4 S10 as well if I run across one. But yeah, the rarity is gonna be a complete PITA, hence hoping my case is salvageable. I noticed how long the adapter for the rear of the T5 the ges to the tranny mount and the TC is what makes it a 4x4 tranny. Maybe the core case of the tranny from a 2wd could be used and the big extension section off mine could be reused?

the 4.3L's 4WD, 5 speed trans is all one piece.

ie, no seperate bell housing. so again, NFG!

you're kinda stuck with the 2.8 family of trans to solve/repair your issues.

either that, or you just upgrade to a 4.3 swap. but again (from experience) those are just as hard to find.

Blazer sat up till 2011 when in the summer I found a super smokin deal on Craiglist and got a low mileage pull off T5 with NP207C attached that didnt even need a chain off a 88 Blazer for $100 bill! Put it in that fall and had it goin since. The 2.8 has still been goin and goin although weak on highway head winds and mountains kill it. I picked up a good 80k mile running pull out 91 Camaro 3.1 to out in it soon. Thats why I am selling th unfinished 3.4 stuff and headers , I dont need that many parts for one truck.

The 3.1 is only a small step over a 2.8. I'd drop it in and drive the wheels off it but rebuild the 3.4. Only reason I don't still have a 3.4 is cause of 35s and 1 ton axles. If I could find a cummings 4bt this year ill be at a engine swap every year for the past 4 years in this blazer lol.

I removed the add shortly after listing it, I am going to follow thru with the 3.1 swap and get her going again. The 2.8 popped a freeze plug after sitting a few months might have froze.. oops LOL

For something interesting ,, you could look into the small V8's out of the cadillac line up. Those are the metric bellhousing as well. The northstar series are very close to it as well. A slight mod or bolt omission I belive is all thats needed.
