Default Any help on remote door installation?

I have a 05. It does not have remote door locks. I already looked for the code in the glove box. Doesn't have it. I really would like to have it. Is there a cheap system that I can install myself? Or can I go to my local junkyard and pick the pieces I need? Anybody done this? Thanks.

I have read that if I did go to a junk yard, I'd still have to go to a dealer to get it programed. That is not worth it to me. I also read that If I can get a donor vehicle with the keyless entry, get the BCM and get the air bag thing, It can probably be done. I think it will be easier to just get an after market system and install that. Seems a lot more simple to take a door skin off pair into two wires and be done with it. Now where can I get a simple cheap system.

Do you have power locks? If you have power locks, you wont have to worry about removing the door panels, the work will be done under the dash.

since you already have all the hardware you need, you just need something to interface with it, such as an aftermarket car alarm. pretty much every single one of them will lock and unlock the doors for you, so you could go that route.

On the "bay" I have seen cheap china system for 12 bucks shipped. I know they are cheap. But all I want is to unlock and lock my doors with a remote. I may go that route and just wire it in.

Default After market keyless remote:

Has anyone installed an aftermarket keyless remote system to their Blazer? If so, can you direct me as to what kind of system do I have (positive/positive or positive/negative) type, and what wires to use? I have an 05 4door 4-wheel drive Blazer. It has power windows and locks, but has no code for remote. I went and purchased a cheap keyless entry system, but chiltons book does not tell me about the wires for the power locks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So it looks like I won't even have to take the drivers side door liner off! Just pull up and out the control button panel. All wires I need to splice into are right there. And there's enough space to place the little black box. I'll be posting pics as I go, I will tackle this job next Monday or Tuesday, my next days off.

Any news on this? I am looking at a easy way to unlock my car also. Such a hasle having to use key on driver door, then unlock. And when leaving the car... Go to rear doors, lift the kids out and then go back to drivers door to unlock, and offcourse, remember to take the keys out.. Arrg

I have given up! I just use the tailgate lock to lock/unlock all doors. I blew the circuit board on the first system. Purchased a second and after two hours blew the second. I got so fed up, I threw EVERYTHING away, and placed everything back together.
