Default Best tires for a 1999 Blazer??

Any suggestions for the best tires for the 99' 4 door LS I just bought?

I don't expect to do any serious off-road stuff, but need to handle Minnesota snow & ice, as well as some Florida sugar sand and heavy rain, at times. Also, the highway travel back and forth, perhaps towing an aluminum trailer with 2,200 pound max load.

It appears I can use up to 235/75/15 tires on the rig, as it is set up now.

Thanks for your opinions.

235/75 R15 Cooper Discoverer AT3 Tire Item-90000002680

I have these on my 00 LT 4x4. I have yet to have traction issues. Heck in 2wd I was driving in 7" of snow and ice on the road and passing people left and right who couldn't go in a straight line to save their life. It was nice to go close to the speed limit while others were suffering from precipitation induced retardation.

Mine ride NICE, they are quiet and and seen everything from waist deep water, clay like mud, rain, snow, ice, and yes I do trailering as well.

The day I got em.

Towing WAY over the rated amount of a blazer...

Here is about 2200lbs including trailer...

I put the 235/75R15 Michelin LTX M/S2 ORWL on at 180,000 miles.
3 Years old now. Put on in November 2010. Not Cheap but worth it.
Warranty 70,000 miles. I think they might make the warranty.
I got about 35,000 miles on them now. Only rotated them 1 time.
They all still look good with a lot of tread left over.
Not to bad rap Kumho but had a set that did not last 30,000 miles.
Rated 70,000 miles. They were rotated every 5,000 miles.

Michelin all the way from now on. They handle nice in all conditions.
They feel good on the highway. I trust them.

BFG All Terrain for me. This is the only tire I will ever put on my truck. I have had sets on various vehicles and they wear excellent. I got a nephew that asked the same question you did and he bought them and put 100,000 miles on them. Check out some of the user ratings. They are aggressive enough, as the picture shows, to handle rain, snow and light offroad demand yet are quite on the road.

everybody has their own flavor of tire, mine: the goodyear silent armor, not cheap but they show their stripes in deeeep snow. Just look on tire rack and compare tires, just my 2 cents.

I have the Michelin LTX m/s on the jimmy (not the ms-2) came with the truck when I got it. They are great tires. brand new when we got it at 163k miles, now at 194k miles and still a lot of tread left.
Only rotated these once sofar too. Even wear. I have a brand new one in the garage on the spare too.. the tread is not that much less than the new after about 31k miles.

Yep. Those Coopers look like they'll do the job. I'd better start saving up now in order to afford those 50K miles from now.
