Blazer 1997 Suspension service
Hi,
Who can help me out, with advice?
I have a Blazer 1997, with a very good engine.
I like to tune up my suspensions.
Apart from the shock absorbers,
what other parts will I have to change.
Thank you up front,

Ball joints x4 (2WD model requires a press, 4WD requires an air chisel or grinder)
Idler arm
Pitman arm (requires a 2-jaw puller to get off)
Inner tie rods x2
Outer tie rods x2
All of those will make the front end feel almost new and you can get all those parts for about $300. Moog brand parts are good, the cheapest parts are just that - Cheap. Heres some optional stuff too.
Control arm bushings x8 (requires a press to remove and install)
Steering shaft U-joint
Front hub bearring x2 (if you have a 4x4)
Remember to write down the amount of turns it took to get the steering linkages apart so you can put the new ones back in the same legnth as the ones you took off.
If you have a 4x4 you should measure your front fenders to the ground and possibly tighten up your tortion bars to lift the sagging front back up to stock height, this is the only part thats free!
We have how to's on just about all that stuff I mentioned buried in the forums, and dont hesitate to ask if you cant find what you need.
PLEASE leave the shocks bolted in if you are new to taking apart front ends. The control arms are under alot of pressure from the springs and Tbars and you can really be hurt if you dont take them apart properly...
