Smile BLAZER 4x4 PRICES????

I'm always amazed at the prices for used Blazer 4x4s. Is it just here on the west coast or all over?
I look mostly at fairly low mileage vehicles like just over 100K. I found my 98 Blazer 4x4 with 115K for $3900 but I have had to put another $1500 in it. to get it into top condition. I see 97-99 Blazer 4x4 with 160+K for $4900-$5900. Any much cheaper look beat to crap. One of my problems today is I just can't do most of my own work. So I have to pay to get a lot of the work done.
I'm thankful for everyone here because it gives me an idea of what the issues are or that I have.
Anyway, just wondering what others have to say on this subject or subjects.
Thanks

Its like that around me in mid michigan...4x anything holds value well.
I saw a lifted blazer similar to mine minus body lift go for 5,000. I dont know what the milage was but thats not bad for a late 90's ride.
I know mine wouldnt draw much...i have mid 230k on it. And that is ok..i would never leave my ol girl

Thats a reasonable price for them. It depends on your location and if there is a big use for them. On the west coast, Michigan, and Tennessee where I am from there is a lot of place you can use them. They will cost less in heavily populated areas like parts of New England. Here is TN you are looking at 3,500$ minimum for a good running one all the way up to 5 or 6k and around 2,500$ for a beater that needs some repair. I have a 2WD ,since I really don't need a 4WD, and it cost me 1,500$ and the only thing I have done to it is put on a new starter and a new set of tires..

Pretty high in Colorado, too.
Something I noticed long ago when comparing used cars - eastern part of the country has much lower prices than the west. It was all about the rust back then.

One thing I have noticed on the West Coast is the Blazer 4x4 seem to hold their values better than most other 4x4s. Of course the Japanese stuff is the highest. Try to buy a used Subaru out here with under 200,000 miles & you might as well buy a new one.

I wonder what mine would bring up north being 99.9% rust free (only real rust is easily removed surface rust)...

Now that gas prices have gone up a lot of people are selling their blazers for cheep around here

Some current examples:
1996 Blazer 169k miles $2200
1996 Blazer 159k miles $1495
1996 Blazer 151K miles $1995
1996 Blazer $2800
(Lots of 96's for some reason)

Newer ones are a little more:
2001 Blazer 185k miles $4495
2000 Blazer 97k miles $4700

Seems like the used car market in general has gone up. Especially the little beaters. I've seen old crappy geo metros or ford escorts for like 3k. Years ago you couldn't give them away. It does help if you can work on your own trucks then you can get one that needs work but even then you don't get them cheap. You'll see like a 98 s10 blazer that needs a trans for 1200. Well after you spend 1500 including the time to remove and reinstall it you're gonna be over 3k so its really not a deal after all
