Blazer Conversion Help Please

Hey guys I have realized that i am not going to be able to get rid of my Blazer, so I was wondering if it was possible to convert a 4 door to a 2 door s10 pickup because I like the s10 more and if it is possible, would you be able to convert it to a first generation? Thanks, Parker

I dont know how to respond.

well... I was looking at a 2 door s10 next to my blazer today and noticed they were the same length, so would you just be able to switch bodies or would they make it much more complicated like everyone seems to do

are you asking if you can pull the body off your 4 door 2nd gen blazer frame and put a 1st gen 2 door body on it?

Why don't you see if you can find someone to trade your blazer for their s10. No sense in reinventing the wheel when there are FAR simpler options!

of a 1st gen s10 pickup

well... it is under my parents name and they won't let me because "I don't know if it is going to break down or not" but the way I see it if my 4.3l Blazer is indestructible than a 4.3l s10 is indestructible as well, but my parents don't believe me.

Ok, not to be mean but I am with rich on this one.

Well, I would love to trade and there is one I have been looking at, but my parents don't want me to drive anything else for some reason, as far as s10s go, how do they differ? Is insurance different for them or the same as Blazers?

If your parents won't let you trade the Blazer for an S10, would they really go for you getting into a body swap instead? That seems to be WAY more likely to produce problems than just trading for a working vehicle.

Just a couple of the problems you'll likely run into with a body swap:
- Wiring - There will likely be no kits, so everything will have to be custom. Some of it will be the same but much will be different.
- Body mounts will definitely be different and will require cutting and welding.
- While the wheelbase may look the same, if it's off by just an inch you would likely end up with rubbing issues, so you'll be having to do some cutting or body shaping.
