GM built Brazilian version Chevy blazer in china from 01-04, sales was stagnant and GM quickly phased it out!
The vehicle was offered with 3 powertrain options, 2.4L 2x2, 3.0L 4x4, 4.3L 4x4.
however, i was confused by the engine codes, which states 4.3L Vortec LG3, launched in 2001. To my knowledge, the LG3/LU3 vortec was first launched in states in 2003, mainly designed to meet strigent CA emission std..
GM's production planning was very much ilogical;
Til the end of its production, 4.3L features the old 95-97 interior + single front aribag, while 2.4 and 3.0L have the new 98+ interior(dual front airbags).
3.0L has 98+ ABS system, while 4.3L features the old 97 model year ABS sys. throughout its entire life cycle. 2.4L comes with no ABS at all!
To the rest mechanical parts are absolutely the same as 95-97 model year chevy blazer!

I really like the fender bulges, gives it kind of a wide body look. However, I really hate that front end. I can't explain it but IMO it's terrible.

Looks like the main difference is the grill & headlights.
I'll take the hood too. That looks pretty cool. In black of course!
