Clueless in T-town
My 04 blazer won't go in 2nd gear. My friend Squirrel replaced the solenoids in the transmission, but not all of them so I've got to change them. I probably burned up the tranny by driving it like that. Would it be more cost efficient and time efficient to put an 03 Chevy Envoy vortec engine and tranny in it or to get another tranny to put in it? Will the vortec engine fit? I dont think he wants to put tranny in and I cant afford a shop. The envoy was wrecked in front and got the radiator but I'm thinking why dont I just fix the envoy? Wouldn't that be the most cost effective? He's selling it to me for $300.

welcome to the forum.
that generation envoy and the s-series are completely different platforms and engines. could it be done? absolutely, but its far from cost effective
fixing the envoy seems most cost effective. but was it deemed a total loss my an insurance company? does it have a salvage title? will you have to apply for one?
