Exclamation Dilema!! Need opinions!

Ok folks, here goes.
I have an 84 s10 blazer 2 Door 4x4, with 2.8.
Rear main seal went, motor became oil starved and has a bad knock.
Option A..... buy a remanned 3.4L from rock auto and begin the swap. ($1600 for just the long block) 3 year 75,000 mile warranty.
Option B... I found a running driving 1994 Gmc Jimmy 4 door 4x4 with the 4.3 vortec and it has 150K miles. Immaculate interior. Has rust on front quarter panels but I can just take the good ones off my 84. Needs a transfer case motor (100-150 bucks) For $1300 or best offer. I was going to offer 900-1000 since the transfer case motor went after he already told me 1300. So I can talk him down I think with that in mind.

I work tons of overtime so I can make plenty of extra cash if I need it. But which route would you guys take?
thanks gents!

Buy the 94 jimmy to drive and keep yours as a project to build in the meanwhile

Update!!!!

So I drive the 94 gmc jimmy 4 door to 4x4 home today.
1 hour trip to my house.
I drove it in 4wd the whole way home seeing as how it's snowing it wasn't a big deal.
I pull in my drive way and put it in neutral,
Then push and hold 4 lo,....it goes right into 4 lo.
Then I push and hold 4 lo again,.....it went into 2wd (I assume since both lights were now off)
I put it back in drive and move forward then stop and out it in reverse, and it goes reverse! !
turns out the 4wd was just fine.

I feel a little bad because I talked him down from 1300 to 950 due to the 4wd "issue".
But, HE was the one who told me it was stuck in 4wd, so I didn't even think to fiddle with it until I got home.
