Arrow Discovered Broken Vacuum Hose

Yesterday I looked under the Blazer hood and discovered a disintegrated vacuum hose leading to the center air intake. I replaced it with a new hose but my question to anyone interested is do I need to reset the HVAC system that is run by a vacuum hose? Do I need to reset any other system such as EGR or 4WD or anything else before I run the Blazer again? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

What year Blazer do you have?

No need to reset anything.

The consequences of a leak in the vacuum hoses is inoperable HVAC and the iinabilty of the front axle to engage.

You should look at the condition of all of your vacuum hoses as if one has rotted, then most others have too.

There are threads on how to replace these hoses.

Thanks for the advice. I want to keep my 1999 Blazer still on the road.

So, if you have a 4-button transfer case, this is the one with the auto4wd option, this is the post for you!

If you have the 3-button one, the setup is a little different but you can use the one for the 4button transfer case to work out what to do.

Be sure to report back!

BTW, I too am trying to my 99 on the road as long as possible!
