Default Do I really want a ZR2?

Hello,
First time post. Hey, hoping you guys can help me out. I'm looking for a 2 door Blazer and I've come across a real nice '04 ZR2, one owner, low miles and in great condition. I'm a little unsure because I'm not that into off-roading and I'm worried about giving up to much ride quality. Because this truck is a state away, I can't easily test drive it. Is there a huge difference in the ride quality between a standard 4x4 and the ZR2?
Thanks in advance, Rich

Yes, if you want a cushy ride stick to a normal Blazer

I have recently bought a ZR2 and I really don't notice the ride but then again I have not rode in a regular one to see the difference. To me giving up a little bit of ride is worth it just for the good looks of the ZR2. I don't off road much either anymore but it's like my C5 Corvette with 500 HP I don't use but it's nice to know I got it. The Z's hold their value better and get lots of looks and compliments. Then again the suspension parts seem a bit more expensive if you use the good stuff and not the cheap china parts. Mine has high miles but is in great shape after all the work I have done to it. I was thinking that if the engine goes bad I might go with a V8 swap someday. Hopefully no time soon though.

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I agree and decided to stick with a ZR2, I'm jumping on a plane on Saturday and buying this 2004 ZR2. Pretty excited about it, thx again, Rich

WOW! That thing's gorgeous!

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how much did/will you pay for it?

I'm paying just shy of eight grand, a little high but the truck is in excellent condition and very well taken care of. I'll pay a premium for that any day.......

It is 4wd correct? They made some 2wd zr2's towards the end of production.

I would too!

It looks like it was very well taken care of and garage kept, for sure.
The wheel flare fasteners are still shiny!
Not even a spot of rust on the receiver.....

Damn, I'm jealous! You lucky dog!

4X4....Another thing that caught my attention about this particular truck was the steering wheel controls. It is the only Blazer I came across with this option. Is that rare? Anyone else have controls on the wheel?
