door rockers go bad?? (not sure if that's the right term)
hey. I just got my Jimmy from the body shop after they repaired the fender and replaced the bumper and touched it up some with new paint.
I was told by their guy that my door rocker on the driver's side is rusting out. I'll take a picture and post it when I can.
Anyway, he mentioned that they tend to rust out on these vehicles and mine shows that it's on its way out. I have noticed that my driver side door does not stay open and closes on itself and that I have to slam the door to get it to close all the way, compared to my other doors where they do not require such force.
First, does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Secondly, if you do, then how much does getting it replaced normally cost?
Last question: Is it salvageable? I'll try and post a picture of it with as much detail of as possible.
Thank you in advance for your input!

I take it you're talking about the bodywork below the doors? The frame?

Think they are called Rockers lol, And you just need new bushings for your door to close nice again

The "Rockers" are what is under the door. These being rusted out though should not affect the closing of the door. Heck, the rockers on my 74 K5 are gone and the doors still close.
The door pins will affect the closing of the door and if the door is not staying open, that is likely caused by the detent arm being worn or the spring is missing.
