Ha, not an 8 cylinder, probably a 4.2L inline 6 cylinder. If they showed the 8th character of the VIN, we would know for sure what engine it is equipped with. It has AWD using a single speed NV136 transfer case. Can't lock it in or out of AWD, (always active) which will decrease fuel mileage. Prime example of a "Blazer wannabe".

200k miles and under blue book [they are asking 2000]...........but looks well kept.......i suspect a commuter, it is located 40 miles each way between two cities......I'm not in any hurry to buy, but shopping keeps me occupied until spring time :-)

I find that the engine has changed......and the awd..........

I'm not at ALL familiar with this setup

opinions???
Not sure how this will work as there is no transfer case to put in neutral. The 2000 system is like my 01...it kicks the front wheels in when it detects wheel slippage. I don't think you can put them in neutral and tow, I would think you'd have to remove the rear drive shaft and put the front wheels on a dolly....or get a full trailer that takes all the wheels off the ground and then tow it with no issues.

I love my 01 and it has 268K on it so far...put a used tranny in a few years ago, but other than just regular maintenance...

As i search, i am finding that even the 2000's and up, have a LOT of miles, ..........so I have decided to set my top dollar a little higher and wait for the one that is just right......

I don't need to worry about towing any more....we don't travel far in the motor home any more......

We probably would only put 5 or 6k a year on a blazer........just for kicking around town and occasional trips to the mountains.......
