Default Electric to Manual

Well, my Blazer has the electric switch for turning on four wheel drive, but of course it's broken. I've read on the board how to fix it, but still it seems like such a weak system it would just be matter of time until it broke again. Is there a way to convert to just the regular manual transfer case shifter? Or would that cost a whole bunch of money time that wouldn't be worth it?

Click here for what you're looking for... It's up to you to decide whether any mod is worth it, though...

Not to mention that the product linked to above only deals with the front axle which has nothing electronic to do with it. I believe what the OP is questioning is if it is possible to move to a manually controlled tranfercase.

The biggest difficulty I see with the actual controls. Manual transfer cases have linkages with stops for precise engagement of each of the modes. If you wish to do such a thing, you would have to determine the location of each of the modes and fabricate a mechanical linkage to perform these operations.

I can't remember where I saw it, but there is a way to manually shift the t-case...

The shaft you need to turn can be extended to come into the cabin right near the front of the drivers seat...

As I said, you would have to fab up a way to positively stop the shaft at each of the 4 modes (2hi, 4hi, Neutral, and 4lo) and retain it in those positions (detents?).

I'm not sure where neutral fits in on this guys mod... As it was on the3 button t-case...But it seems it all shifts good and whatnot... and the shift on the fly thing still works... Just as long as you remember how far you have to move it, lol.

That depends on which part is broken... If it's the switch panel itself, then you can probably find one fairly cheap on e-bay...

Not sure about the vacuum actuator... or the TCCM
