Sorry for your loss, Don't take the insurances first offer. Haggle with them. Remember you have to pay for a rental car get them to pay you for that even if you don't rent a car. That is good for another $1000.
What are these hoods made of? The way it broke & burned almost looks like some composite. Most likely thin sheet metal. The hoods on the two Blazers I have owned the paint goes to hell on them when the rest of the truck looks great.

 

well the hood an fender are broken like they are cause of fire department, the used the claws of death on the hood an for some reason beat the fender for some reason
