Default Good news for the Bolt Mobile!

After some serious, and very scientific testing (stuck a magnetized pen sized LED flashlight to it), I've discovered I'm one of those lucky few who has an iron front diff! And I'm not even a ZR2! Score!

Now to get ahold of a locker for the bloody thing! lol.

Though, I don't think I'm lucky enough to get the 8.5" rear... Just a piddly little 7 5/8" for me, lol, ahhhh well, can't win 'em all!

Sounds like im in the same boat as you (got the iron front, smaller rear, and 3.42 gears). Let me know what you find out about lockers for the front. Ive been looking and havent seen any yet, though admittedly i havent lookedall that hard.

Hmmmm, ill keep that in mind, thanks. Gotta add that to the long list of other items like body lift, 33's and wheel spacers, fuel level sensor, sliders...........man this forum really makes me wanna drain my wallet, lol. Im not sure if i want the lift and 33's first or if i want the locker. I may do the locker first just because my 31's are so new and i want to use them up before i go out buying new tires. Though i could sell them and get the 33's first, anyways, getting off topic here. I'll take a look into the locker.

Edit: Hey they got a locker for our rear axles too. Found part numbers for them too. 1935 is the part number for the front, 1931 for the rear.

Yeah, they have a locker for the rear... But all the really good stuff is only for the 8.5" rear end! lol

Tis true, would be much better if we had those ever so nice 8.5" diffs but alas, we got boned, lol. Again another item to debate is replacing the axle with the 8.5, or just going all out with Dana 44's front and rear, or being cheap and keeping the 7.625 and going with a locker.

Found another advantage to having the iron front diff!

There's an actual drain plug! (according to the Hayne's manual, the aluminum diff only has a fill plug...)

I was going to upload a picture, but it's not working for me right now...
