Got in a crash
~7:40am going to school. Going ~50mph, guy tunes left and did not see me, I t-bone him.
Everyone is ok, and oddly I was out before the guy in a Cadillac deville. Will see what insurance want to give for blazer but I have alot of good parts and blazers are fairly cheap. Engine shut off but radio was still going :) PICS: Hooked a door skin. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0938658887.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0938591023.jpg Frame bent right behind the pass side A arm http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0938531451.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0938485929.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0938443514.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0937400211.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0937147307.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0936910539.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0936861113.jpg |
damn, good thing every one is okay, ive seen alot of people get hit like that and get hurt realllllly badly
|
Dang i'm glad you're alright
|
Glad everyone is ok! And I'm sure Insurance will give you enough to get another Blazer. Just make sure to pull the parts you wanna keep now... because sometimes insurance agencies won't let you keep the vehicle after they deem it totaled.
|
Got a feeling I wont be able to get what it's worth, so might end up keeping it and getting a new to me blazer, maybe even a zr2. Luckily dad has extra vehicles so don't have to deal with getting a vehicle really soon, or a rental.
|
Your headlight seems to be in good condition.
On to serious notes,im glad your alright. Question guys? Ive never totaled a vehicle and kept any parts etc. I had the mindset that when you total the car/truck etc that you cant remove anything? So if i totaled my blazer tonight,i could pull the engine and still beable to get the same amount of money i would have before hand? Do they take the car away or do you get paid for the loss and still keep it? |
I think it depends on the agency. I've never been in a wreck so I'm not sure how it works. I'm pretty sure that you can take things out that you bought for it... like stereo equipment, GPS. Maybe even anything that you have a receipt to say that you bought it after you bought the vehicle.
|
You can remove personal things or accessories, not anything like the engine unless you buy it back from the insurance agency(That is if they total it, but generally if an airbag blows they will consider it totaled)

Holy cow, I'm glad you are ok. 50MPH? That's insane, I've seen the crash test results at 60 for a blazer and I have to say I'm impressed with the real life result, much better than I would have expected. But once again glad you are ok.
|
Woah! Good thing you were alright. You can replace a Blazer not a person. Looks like you tore up that Caddy, too.
Do you have the Brazilian tail lights? Nice. I know it's off topic but were you able to wire the turn signals to the right spot? |

glad your alright the blazer looks totaled
they will let you keep it but they will deduct somewhere around 500 bucks or more from the money youll be getting |
wow glad you are ok, looks like it flipped pretty slowly to not damage the side more then it did

well as far as insurance goes. some companies will let you buy it back and deduct some kind of value out of what they give back to you. and on the what they let you keep. you have to look at the estimate they write out. personal items are yours to keep. but if they estimate it with a cd player hope your stock one has a cd player. and so on.
i just totaled my truck a few weeks back thats where i learned all that. (how i got my lil blazer) on another note glad you are ok. you sore at all man lol |
Just a bit sore on the neck and knees oddly, going to doctor tomorrow just cuz.
|
good good. i didnt get checked out and didnt claim mine as i didnt know i was messed up. should have gone to the doc and got checked out and now my shoulder is super messed up. totaled my z71 going 20 lol. sad sad day
|
It's good everyones alright! Sorry to see your Blazer like that, It looked like a nice one :icon_doh:
Now is the perfect time to keep it and turn it in to an off road machine :icon_teeth: |
buy it back, if it still runs and drives just hack off the front end and make a offroad truck out of it. i wrecked my 90 fullsize, they gave me 2000 for it ( i only paid 300 for it) put a junkyard front end on it and still driving it. i was able to buy it back for something stupid, forgot the exact number but it was like $220. i could have scrapped it and made twice that

Glad everyone is ok. That's how l lost my 94 after only 7 days of ownership a guy turn into my lane right in front of me and hit me head on.
|
Glad that everybody is ok. I just crashed front part of my 1993 chevy silverado 1500 last night in the snow storm by the deer. Was suppose to use the truck in a week from Saturday for hunting season but not now.
|
glad to see you are alright.
How did the truck end up on its side tho? Oh and you said the frame was bent? im not sure that would even be a good idea for a wheeler. unless it isnt to horribly bent. |

. And now for the insurance game. Friday met the adjuster, offed $3890, and tired to say salvage was going to take 30% **** that! Going to try to get $4500, printed out tons of compatible vehicles. So the game part: Friday have meeting with adjuster. Still need to get a few things out of blazer. I am confused on how they can tow my vehicle with out my permission so I call my insurance then call their insurance then call the adjuster. during meeting he said they might tow it later today(Friday). Said need to get there to get things out. Not going to happen got work. Today(Saturday) go to the original tow yard. insurance already took vehicle. ****, go to the location of where he said it would be towed and they are not even open. Dam guy did not tell me anything, called him to let him no and tried the "not my fault". Will go Monday to get my things and if they don't let me in I will call the cops, I still own the vehicle. Also logging all the miles. Will see how it goes, really want my tail lights over anything, but would like my radio and flash drive my music is on(32gb so cost me some money for it). |
wtf... yeah that doesn't make any sense that they towed it to a yard already.

I just hope I can go in get my things and leave. I just hope I don't have to call the cops to get my things. |
How is taking your car to some random junkyard without the go ahead from you normal? lol.
|
damn thats most def a wreck. glad your okay.
Im sure you will make out on the deal. |
i dont know if different states have different laws. but at my other job when a fleet car got in a wreck they would always just tow it back to the business and the insurance adjuster would come whereever the truck is. same thing when i got into a wreck i was gonna have it towed to my house but was able to drive it. even though my truck was a beater theres still the gps, ipod, radio, etc in there some dirtbag could steal from it
|
Every state is different. What I do know is MA, NY, NJ, CA, & IL are all run like a communist country. The officials do what they want, when they want, at your expense. It's all about money in any of these states - how much they can extort from you as quickly as possible. They know you need your car to make a living, so they charge whatever they please - because you WILL pay it.
You get in a wreck in MA, your car is gone with everything in it .... and I can guarantee you none of it will be there if & when you go to retrieve it. Everyone will play dumb, & your left holding the bag. Anyone along the line could've stolen your items -- tow guy, thieves that broke in the wrecking yard, etc. If you break down on the highway in MA they can tow it if it's left there any length of time - and if it's too close to the the road, it'll be gone before you get back - at your expense ... usually far north of $100. Ain't communism grand? :icon_lolsign: I noticed the IA plates in the pics of the wreck there .... but as I was reading I was getting MA deja-vu ... SORRY MAN! |
I just hope I can get back what I want, mainly the tail light because they are almost one of a kind in USA, but I have not handed my title over to anyone, so if things missing someone is going to pay
|
I was just at the tow yard and was able to get everything I wanted. Got radio, tuned ecu, and my oem euro tail light.
|
Good deal. I can tell your not from MA ... or this post would have been entirely different ......
|
settled for $4400 for the blazer
