Default Grill Guards

Hey All, I am looking to install a grill guard onto my 2003 Blazer. After a recent deer hit, my Blazer was just a few dollars from being totalled. I would like to install a grill guard so that in the future, if I were to hit another deer, the impact will be taken by the grill guard. Although I don't really plan on pushing other vehicles, I want something that can push and not bend or cause damage to my vehicle. I am looking at a bumper from truckgeardirect.com (link below). Has anybody dealt with them? Does anybody know of any other brands out there that will hold up to my needs for less than $300? Thanks

A grill gaurd really isnt going to do much to help with a deer impact. It infact may do more damage. Mosty of them are just for looks and are really only designed to help with small brush and tree limbs. Thats why they call the brush gaurds.

I have to agree with Greg and blazer4x4 that a regular brush guard isn't going to helP and will likely aid in causing additional damage. The problem with them is that they look nice but aren't built for strength so when you hit something substantial such as a deer on one side it smashes the guard back and what may have just been damage on one side is now your whole front end! What you want/need it's a good sturdy steel bumper like the one posted above. Sadly there aren't many options available fit the s-series but there are a couple. I personally hate the bumper above and dislike it even more for the price they want for it but another option is Logan's Metal Products. They have a bad rep around the web for their communication but most of that is older and from the experience I have heard first hand they are a good company and I have personally seen both of their designs and they are well built and nicely finished (no I'm not at all affiliated just offering my input about them).
