has anyone ever seen this version before?
I think that it is a Z85, I have never seen one until today. I really love the way that it looks. Has anyone ever tried to turn a 2dr blazer into this version? Or is this too hard to be able to convert into.

Is there suppose to be a picture??
|
RPO z85 was only increased rear leaf springs (3-4 leafs). My 87 was a factory z85.
If you seen a truck with stickers all over the side it was most likely dealer installed to charge more. Z85 wasn't rare or uncommon option package. It was used on 2wd and 4x4s as its only the rear springs. |
Since we are on the subject, When I went to get the hood for the jimmy, the guys blazer was a Sterling something edition. It had it in big cursive letters on the bottom of the drivers door, it was a 94. I tried to search it up, but could not find anything on it.

https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1358366607 I just have never seen one like this. Its really good looking and I am wondering if anyone has ever seen one or heard of someone doing this to their 2dr, because I am now thinking that would be something interesting to look into getting done on mine. |

not a factory back. someone chopped the back of the roof off a std blazer. looks well done too!

I have actually seen one that sounds kinda like that around my neighborhood. Next time I see it I'll try to figure out what edition of the blazers it is.
The odd part about it, is there was nothing special about it really. cloth interior, analog dash. just had bigger flares, running boards and that cursive edition on the bottom of the drivers door. |
Is SO nice looking. It would be so sweet to get this done, there are a ton of 2dr blazers in my area, none of them are lifted...they are all lowered, so mine with the 30 inch tires and bar on the front stands out, but something like that would be so sick.

Nice grille & fog lamps too, good looking custom job! Not factory. RPO Z85 was tagged as "Firm ride suspension". It includes stiffer rear springs and torsion bars, and uses the same alignment specs, (camber, caster & toe) as the ZR2. Front chassis ride height remained unchanged due to the ZR2 using a different frame.

Ya I learned that about the Z85, I have that on my blazer. I guess that is why with stock wheels I sat higher than other stock blazers. I just wonder how much it costs to get that kind of chop done.

That's the ZR2 Shark Concept
|
It only costs a bit of time and skill if you have a sawzall and a welder to do it right lol!! Maybe a little more for a cover. Here's a couple 4 doors.

Why in gods name did they not put it on the production line. I think that the 2dr looks better than the 4 but they are all really nice looking...has anyone else noticed that they kinda looks like a smaller version of a Avalanche?
Same reason they didn't put the 4 door ZR2 concept into production.... whatever that might be. |
It just caught me off guard I was expecting there to be a full blazer body and then there wasn't. haha I think that it would make a great camping rig. Where the roof rack is at is like a prime spot for lights up top.

I wish they would have produced the Shark concept. Then again I wish they would have produced the Hugger concept.
https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1358434652 I like the widened rear and even more so a factory v8. Too bad it only wound up being a ugly body kit. |
Does anyone know why they didn't produce a v8 version of any of the blazers?

Cost, insurance, safety, epa regs, lack of demand, gas mileage, lazy. |

I guess that's true. Haha I've just always wondered why that wasn't a thing.
|
Yeah, nothing like having 2/3rds of a real engine that has such bad balance problems they had to spend more time retrofitting to keep it from shaking apart. Instead of riding SBC coat tails they could have designed it to run and actually get good mileage compared to its displacement like they done on some of their real v6s that were designed from the ground up. There's a reason why GM has distanced theirself from 90 degree v6s in anything made for power, economy, and reliability.
