Default Heater core supply

Hi guys and gals. Going to change my thermostat (98 blazer 4WD 4.3L) so figured may as well backflush heater core (draining engine and replacing coolant) both hoses are side by side so which one is the inlet (left when looking at it or right when looking) the other day was just messin around and i felt the hoses and the one on the left was getting warm while the right one was still cool. Also can i back flush my engine through the cavity where the thermostat goes since it will be out? Thanks for any help

i wouldn't run the kind of pressures i'd use to flush an engine through the heater core, and doing it from the thermostat housing would require a pretty big hose, for the heatercore inlet just trace the hose that runs from the water pump to its terminus, thats your inlet, the oulet runs to the intake manifold.
