Unhappy Help with exporting/importing Blazer parts

Hi I hope u can assist; is there anyone on the forum who owns a parts supply shop or can recommend one for Blazer parts, I live in Lesotho / South Africa and need to import some parts:
1 x Set upper Ball joints for Left and Right
1 x Set Rubber bushes for the front sway bar
1 x Automatic Gear shifter lock button (the button u push to move the shifter out of park)

Its for a 2002 4.5 V6 4 door Blazer - Any help would be greatly apreciated as we dont get parts in SA for the Blazer

Thanx

Justin

Hi Justin,
Be careful ordering parts for your Blazer, I believe from your other postings that it is RHD. I have one in the UK, it is surprising how many parts for the RHD are different to the LHD parts. Make sure you specify RHD when ordering. Front steering linkages vary and can be very difficult to find, also the HVAC system is totally reversed as are many engine bay parts.
One part that is almost impossible is the pitman arm main steering link from the steering box to front linkages, I finally managed to get one from New Zealand. Hope you get what you need.
I get my parts in the UK from here.

I think they ship overseas, but try the US first

For reference, we have a lot of Blazers (1998 - 2002) in New Zealand - all used imports from Japan.

Despite all the RHD Blazers being built in New Jersey, parts for RHD trucks will not be available ex the US. More so I guess because the NJ plant has long since closed.

Main parts problems will be RHD & mostly front suspension including the steering box & pump. Also, some dash components i.e. heater radiator & controls, vents & some switches. The Jap ones came with power fold side mirrors not available on US models.
Also, the Jap, & perhaps the UK Blazers have the handbrake & gear shifter in the centre console.
The Jap trucks have additional fender flares not available in the US.

We have Holden here so no Chevy dealerships. As a result we are reliant on some Chevy specialist shops for parts. We have one in Auckland who buy used and/or wrecked trucks to strip for used parts.

You can google Bunce Motor Company in Auckland New Zealand & they'll be glad to help. If not, send me a PM & I'll see if I can help.

We also help out the Aussies on occasion as they have the same issue as South Africa - not many Blazers were imported there.

P.S. I grew up in S.A. Moved to the London, UK in early '90's & then NZ in 2001.

RC, thanks for the info RE: US Automotive, they helped me out and after 2 week delay at SA customs I got my parts, all fitted and ready to go. All the noises are gone and the Blazer is running well. I was ready to plant 10kg of TNT in the rear and blow it to pieces, These Blazers are frustrating vehicles, but now it seems ok for now.

Cheers from a boiling hot Lesotho - 38 Degrees C today.
