Help guys..98 Blazer
Hello..my neighbor is selling a 98 Blazer for $500 with a smashed in front end.He says it needs a new front end, radiator, ac condensor, hood. He says he can get everything he needs to fix it for around $500 at a wreck yard. I want to know if in your guyses opinion if its worth it for me to buy and fix up. and from the pictures what do u guys think will cost to replace things from a wreck yard to get it going again. The motor runs and the rest of the blazer is excellent just dirty. let me post some pics for you guys
any input would be appreciated...and the air bags did not deploy

I'd be hesitant to buy it...just because it was a head on. There could be a lot wrong within the engine bay. Although it doesn't look as though it was that big an impact, so if it starts and runs fine it may be alright. I'd just be careful and look over it very carefully.

Thanks sisk...motor starts and runs...not sure what to do

The motor may be running but is the frame ok? Looks like it may be pushed in.
I'd do what the engine does ... keep running!

dang, for $500, I'd be tempted to buy it if it ran, and IF I had a place to store it while I restored it, and IF I could do most of the work myself.
If you are a decent mechanic with access to a cheap body shop, I'd go for it, but I'm thinking that if you gotta lay more than $1500 in the work, you might be at the break-even point for a non-wrecked '98 from the used car lots.

So where is this at cause i could use the whole thing and for 500 bucks i would ****** it up quick. A rear end alone is gonna cost me that for mine. Plus all the other parts i could use.
