Default HID questions

I am looking to put a set of hids in my factory housings. I have a 2000 blazer.
Low beam headlamp
9006
High beam headlamp
9005

I want as close to white as I can get without being yellow or blue. I am going between 4500k or 5000k.

Heres my question. I know some headlight housings are too small for a 55w. Is this the case with the blazer? Does everyone get the 35 or 55?
Secondly, If I wanted highs and lows would I need to purchase 2 seperate kits?

So order 1 9005 and 1 9006?

Also where do you guys hide all 4 ballasts?
Thanks, Brian

I know there are a few posts about the temps. & where to mount the ballasts. Mine are mounted on the plastic (no electrical ground) rad housing & a few others in here are mounted similarily. HIDexTra now has better mounting means & that makes it a lot easier. As for the heat, I'm not sure & to make sure you get the proper bulb/s - remove a high & low bulb (don't touch the glass with bare fingers!) & see what bulb it is = no mess up that way.

i have a 2000 chevy blazer also that i just put hid's in not even a week ago. i got 9006 6k lowbeams and im pretty impressed with them but not 100% happy with them ( having some issuse with both of them not turning on at the same time). but i would say to just get the lowbeams just because 1.) 2 more ballasts you have to find space for. 2.) how often would you use the highbeams? with my 6k lowbeams it was 10x brighter than the halogen highbeam bulbs. 3.)you gota consider that when ever you use your hid highbeams they take awhile to get warmed up and such..and constantly turning highbeams on and off will wear them out quicker.

You would need 2 kits, and 1 kit for the low beams currently is enough for me

I realize turning them on and off would cause them to prematurely wear out lol.
I might just do one kit then and save myself the money but I was thinking of doing both and then the quadbeam mod. I still havent been told wheather you guys go with the 35w or the 55w kit. Appreciate the fast responses guys.

Can I have some other people confirm that 55w will not be too much?
I would like to not have to buy a new set of housings because they melted.
