Default I NEED HELP: K5 Diesel

I have been looking at buying a K5. I have found one that is diesel in good shape. I have no idea on what to expect from these old diesels. I have yet to drive it either. Can someone give me a rundown of pros and cons on these 6.2 diesels? Fuel mileage, performance, reliability ect.
Thanks in advance for response.

I have owned a handful of 6.2L Suburban and K5 Blazer 4x4s. They are non-turbo and only make about 150hp, but that's ok if your not planning on towing a heavy trailer.
My 83' 4x4 Suburban had a 6" lift with 36" Super Swampers and returned close to 18mpg with 3:73 gears. K5's with stock tires were known to get into the low 20's mpg range.
Watch out for broken starter bolts... these engines were notorious for that. Injector pumps weren't a strong point with them either.
They are not rocket ships off the starting line but once you get a 6.2L rolling they will cruise down the road with ease and are pretty reliable engines.

I have a 94 K1500 with the 6.5L turbo. It is a strong runner and gets about 20 MPG on the highway. The low end torque is really nice as well.
