Default Identify year of abandoned Blazer

I have an abandoned Chevy Blazer on my storage lot that I am trying to get permission to sell from the DMV. They want the year and my attempts at using decoders for the VIN have been unsuccessful. The VIN is TC0147Z509662. I am attaching a picture of it. It is identified as a K5. I would appreciate any help.

T - GMC
C - 2wd
0 - invalid engine code - Likely is a D which is the 250CID inline 6 engine
1 - 1/2 ton
4 - Pickup - Should be 8 for Blazer/Jimmy
7 - 1977
Z - Fremont, CA assembly plant - The Blazer/Jimmy platform was only built out of Flint - 'F' for this location in the VIN.
509662 - production sequence number

As you can see, there are some problems with the VIN you stated. Can you post a picture of the VIN plate? This VIN provided belongs to a pickup, not a K5.

I'd fix her up and drive her. X2 on the vin plate. Is it rusted up or anything to make it hard to read?

Edit: Do after checking what Rustynuts said.

I would be concerned that it's been stolen making it unsellable. It's a side affect from living too close to Detroit. Call your local police about an abandoned vehicle on your property and let them research the blazer before you spend a penny on it. Ask for a copy of their findings to cover yourself.

I am pretty sure that the VIN plate does not belong with this vehicle. The '4' in the fifth location indicates that the body style is pickup which this clearly is not.

dang i was gonna guess 77, wonder if theres a vin somewhere else possible it could be stolen and someone had a pick up vin and title laying around. can you just sell it with no title for parts? friend of mine owns a storage yard for years i used to just cut up and scrap cars left there after the police ran the vin. i got good too, can have a car in pieces in 2 hours, depending on the size of the car and scrap prices you made a few hundred bucks

that actually looks like a solid truck though, try to save it from the scrapper if you can

Default Blazer year

Ok, I am going to have to get someone to go back out to the lot and recheck the VIN. I will get a picture taken when I do so. Thank you all for your help.
