Default Interchangeable tranny and tcase question

So I have a 1996 Chevy s10 4.3 4x4 with a 4l60e and was wondering if I could take it out of my s10 and put it in a 1995 Chevy blazer 4.3 4x4. I’m new at tranny work and motor work. I just had to replace a motor in my s10 but wiring got fried due to a lot of rats and just don’t have the time or patience to work on it. So I’m buying a new truck with a tranny problem. I just need to know if I have to get another tranny for the blazer or take the one out of my s10.

You could if they were the same year, but '95 is its own animal. I'm reasonably sure they are NOT compatible.

thanks man. That’s all I needed to know. I have a master mechanic friend that’s saying they both should be compatible with each other and I’m just of his ***.

It will physically bolt in no problem. As stated the 95 is the problem though the wiring is different to control the trans. I went through this with a 95 suburban.
