Yeah, I'd be hard pressed to get 30' out of my factory remotes, even the newer ones on the Rainier. The remotes that came with the remote start work at over 1000' outside, but my building at work has some sort of force field that limits the range when I'm inside. LOL

I hate those force fields, what remote start do you have?

This is from the owner's manual:
If your vehicle has this feature, you can lock and unlock
your doors from about 3 feet (1 m) up to 30 feet (9 m)
away using the remote keyless entry transmitter supplied
with your vehicle.
At times you may notice a decrease in range. This is
normal for any remote keyless entry system. If the
transmitter does not work or if you have to stand closer
to your vehicle for the transmitter to work, try this:
Check the distance. You may be too far from your
vehicle. You may need to stand closer during rainy
or snowy weather.
Check the location. Other vehicles or objects may be
blocking the signal. Take a few steps to the left or
right, hold the transmitter higher, and try again.
Check to determine if battery replacement or
resynchronization is necessary
.

Yeah, I've always felt the range was pretty narrow. Almost makes it pointless to have the panic button since you're so close to the truck before you might recognize a hazard. I had a Taurus rental car a couple weeks ago and the remote worked from 50 feet or more. My Blazer's remote doesn't work any farther than 15, maybe 20 feet away.

Hold the remote to your chin (touching your chin) when you press the button. This increases the range by another 15 feet or so.
