Looking at a new Blazer tomorrow!

Alright guys and gals, here's the deal. My Jimmy has close to 210,000 miles on it. With a 550 mile commute each way, multiple times a year, to and from school, its life isn't getting any easier. I've been searching craigslist for a while now and came across a 2003 2 door 4x4 with 120,000 on the clock.
Called yesterday and found out that she is the second owner, the truck wasn't smoked in, no leaks, doesn't burn any oil, no rust (other than around stone chips), no warning lights in the dash, and a few other things.
Now, she's asking $3995 and the blue book in "good" condition was $6500-6700 and "fair" was $5200 I believe. As we all know, cash speaks volumes so maybe she'll come down a bit. What do you guys think? Sound like a decent deal?

Yeah sounds like a good deal. Do what I did a few years back when I bought a car, dress like a hobo and see if the person selling will feel bad and come down in price, aha.

Worth a shot.
Worth a shot.

she looks good but i say get it checked by a mechanic before you do any deals

its too cheap for an 03', makes me suspicious, check her over thoroughly.

Yeah, my dad and I are going to check it out. Hopefully between the two of us, we can discover anything that may be a bit off. I'm hoping for best though, maybe it's just one of those "one of a kind" deals!

Good luck and I hope it works out for you. I am sorry I will not be at work until Wednesday to help you out by running the vin # for you.
#7
That'd be cool, I'll still throw the vin your way if this thing comes to fruition though! Thanks!

Well, the truck ended up having quite a bit of rust bubbles forming in front of the rear wheels and was absolutely covered in dents lol. So we decided to pass it up. However, we later went and looked at a 1999 ZR2 which was also rusty in the same spot but in decent shape elsewhere. I offered him 3,000 and he was asking 3,500 and he declined. He claims he needs it gone my wednesday so maybe he'll come around.
We got home last night and I found another ZR2 that we may look at tonight. It's a 2001 with moon roof, bose stereo, full power etc... The only drawback, the passenger side quarter panel in front of the rear wheel has a huge rust hole in it. However, the driver's side is in great shape with no rust. I figured I'd just buy a patch panel from LMC and they're like $60. I have a buddy that can help weld it in and I can do the body work myself. What do you guys think about this one? (sorry for keeping on about this haha)

EDIT: Forgot to add, he said he may be able to go lower on the price...
