Default New Blazer Owner..was I right or the hubby?

I came across a 2001 Blazer LS RWD 5spd 2dr with 124,114 miles, for $2000.00. It was in great shape, couple dings in pass door and a couple pieces of trim missing between headlight and turn signal on pass side. The guy who had it had hit a deer, not goin very fast, and so basically the deers butt caught the door. The guy is the supervisor at a local large dealership in the collision repair dept. so he just took it to work and fixed the door since it wasnt nothing major. He had it bout 3 yrs, had to replace gas tank when he bought it, then he replaced the radiator or a part somehow related, also has brand new tires even the spare, and was well maintained before him as well as him. The husband said I should have given up...dealt with him for a week and had THREE pick up times which the THIRD I let him know he was out of time!!...and so I drove it home. It runs great, a few rattles but main one is spare in the rear which is no biggie. After a week of the ol man not backin me up for this deal, he drove it to the store and it being a manual I cant drive it for long periods cause of disability. So NOW of course, the ol man wants it. So did I do a good thing by buying it for the price and seeing that all usual gripes had done been replaced, or should I have listened to the now very happy ol man and gave up on buying it? So was I RIGHT for getting it thinking it was a great deal, or was he RIGHT when he said give up on it? Help, cause Im tired of hearing about it LOL

ya kinda lost me in the middle there, but if nothing else happens regarding major repairs, how can he even bring up his arguement again.

unrelated question, but why would you buy a manual transmission vehicle, if your disability prevents you from driving it a long distance?

guess it doesn't matter, since he's found a new ride. you should point that out to him the next time he has a grin while driving your new truck.

The gentleman, will use this term to be polite about it, done some work on it. I got some research done on the vehicle and its pros and cons before my PICK UP day...which was a week. So needless to say, I knew already that the things that generally are on the cons lists had already been fixed by a licensed mechanic, hence the guy I bought it from. The guy said it was mine, there was one dude he said could have it but had a deadline..didnt meet the deadline..so this was the ONLY time my ol man stopped to ask on it. So needless to say, for a week and several stops to "pick it up" the ol man told me that he just probably changed his mind hoping I would let it go if he put me off long enough.....ummmmm NO. So I proved that if I want it bad enuf I dont go away LOL so now....I bought it knowing I probably couldnt drive it and IF the ol man didnt want it (thats a giggle there) that regardless I could resell it and get more money for it than what I paid. So well...the ol man drives it to work since now suddenly the front end of his truck is goin out..hmmmm..and I told him that he could have it AFTER I got me something different...so now Im lookin for one that automatic. But I thought it was a great deal, considering the year and mileage...and it was so cheap cause the old dudes wife was in the process of contacting a divorce attorney. Hate to see things like that, but then it paid off for me. But needless to say, I KEEP IT on the days I have to run errands and such and so now it is labeled OURS. So yeah...dont think I give him crap every chance I get as payback LOL And when I hear him tell a buddy that he got it blah blah blah..of course I step up and correct him by letting whomever know that I am the one who GOT IT...and am nice enuf to share for the time being LOL (note: never say in front of ur insurance guy that u feel big and would be able to run over people hee hee...luckily hes been my insurance agent for years LMAO)

Sound OK to me. If the husband was smart he would do like I do. My wife bought me a new Suzuki SV650S for my 58th birthday a few years back & I make sure everyone knows she bought it for me. Makes her happy & gives her the credit. A Happy Wife means a Happy Husband.

Needless to say cant wait to get me an automatic, hoping for same year and all just to hopefully make mine look better and run better than his LOL so now as long as he gives me credit for his ride, I will be nice. And well..to me..it just looks a lil mean and thats what I like about it. So if mine dont look mean it better be at least big enough to eat his LOL so if its auto, it aint beyond me to need a step ladder to get it as long as Im happy. And well..for me being tiny...the bigger the better but Im glad he loves it. And he is lucky I picked out not so feminie skull seat covers that matched or else well...I woulda got one heck of a giggle no doubt LOL

I only bought it cause my Daddy raised me to know about vehicles. And told me to do my homework, even if I cant drive it well...if I can make a profit then its worth a lil time...being disabled it aint like I have a busy schedule LOL. So worst case was I took time to sell it, which around here wouldnt take long...didnt have to leave home for a buyer though, only well...the ol man says he aint gotta pay since he paid to start with...o well...Ill get mine soon enough LOL So I bought it even though Im disabled knowing I could at least get my money and then some if it came down to it. If ur worst case is profit..I dont see how it coulda been a bad deal at all regardless LOL

i say it's a great deal. I personally would have jumped on it. Especially being a manual, they're my favorite.
