Default New Blazer verses old

Had an opportunity to take a photo of my 97 2 door with a new Blazer side by side. I'm not impressed with the new Blazer at all.

I think the new ones are fine. I might even call them nice. But they don't evoke the rugged image I've always associated with the Blazer name. They're just another SUV in an endless sea of cookie cutter SUVs. To each his own, though. Obviously, not everybody is looking for rugged.

I might be old fashioned but unless it has body on frame construction, it is not an SUV.

Different audience with the new "Blazer". As Christine said if it's not a body on a frame - I would say it's not a truck.

This onw was equipped with front wheel drive and a small engine. To be fair most late model cars these days have small C.I. engines. I feel it was a waist of a good model line.

Exactly. That's why they call them CUVs (Crossover Utility Vehicles) now, which is a fancy way to say "station wagon".
