yeah, i hear ya on the cost Kiwi.

our personalized plates here in Ontario used to be $150 (plus regular yearly fee for the renewal sticker), but ever since they came out with the 8 digit plate a few years ago (used to be only 6) it's almost doubled. i think it cost me around $280 for the ones on my 'Burb.

 

I got WLORTON on mine... lol... I think its something like 130-150 to get plates and then 112 a year for the lil sticker....

I'm thinking about getting a D.A.R.E lisence plate just so it would flow better with my truck. I think its like $35 and it is a good cause...

my 84 is 21.50 a year for a tag then I pay an additional $20 for my personalized tag.

 

Sadly we're restricted to only 6 characters.

We're restricted to six characters as well although I heard they're going to start allowing seven characters soon. We also have a pretty wide assortment of plate designs we can choose from. I've been wanting to get my last name on the "lone star red" plate below. I saw one on a red SS Cobalt that had a red frame around it covering the white border and it's almost a perfect match for the Chevy red.
